Allenworks was founded in Asheville in 2002 (Sweetwater Concepts) by Chris Allen, a craftsman with a vision: to blend the natural beauty of Western North Carolina with timeless, functional landscape design. What began as a one-man operation has grown into one of the region’s most respected high-end landscape design firms—known for creativity, precision, and a deep respect for the land.

Chris spent years building Allenworks stone by stone, often with his brother Josh Allen by his side. After years of collaboration and shared projects, Josh officially joined as a partner in 2025, bringing new energy and leadership as Allenworks expanded into the Charlotte market.

Allenworks was born in the heart of Asheville, shaped by the textures, waters, and woods of the Blue Ridge Mountains. With more than two decades of experience crafting nature-driven spaces, 2025 marks a new chapter as we bring our signature mountain aesthetic to Charlotte.

Chris continues to lead our Asheville operations, staying close to the roots of our work, while Josh heads up our growing presence in Charlotte—bringing years of hands-on experience and a shared passion for outdoor beauty to the Queen City.
